  Be careful, backpackers! The burnie backpackers is definitely not the place you want to stay on your holiday!
  
  I was in Burnie in the busy season where a lot of berries pickers coming in the city so the rooms got quite fully booked in the area.
  
  I thought it was very lucky for me to get a bed in the Burnie backpackers but it turned out to be a nightmare!
  
  -Staying in a garage
  Me and my friend manage to reserve for a 6bed-room for two weeks, but the hostel were fully booked so the hostel manager was very KIND to turn his garage into another 4bed-room and let us stay. We tried to negotiate the price, as we thought staying indoor and sleeping in a garage (without electricity, fan and air conditioning) are total different thing. But the manager told us, either take the garage, or just find somewhere else, there's no room to bargain.
  OK.... So we tried to stay for a night.
  
  -negative health side effects from the paint
  As the garage was newly painted, you can still smell the paint! I stayed in the room for about ten minutes and started to get negative health side effects, headache, dizziness, irritation if the eyes, nose and throat. I had to stay in the common area for the whole night to get rid of these.
  But then.... The hostel manager cane up to me and told me to either sleep in the freshly-paint-smelling-room or leave the hostel. He does not care what harmful health side effects the paint does to me, or i go to my car and sleep, i just cannot stay in the common area for the night.
  I tried to let him know i will go back to my room once the odor disappears (so i wont have those side-effects), he just did not care.
  
  What a welcoming hostel! Putting their guests into a newly painted garage and let them suffer from the negative health side effects and would not even allow their guest to spend one night in the common area.
  
  Thanks and I will never ever come back again! Backpackers, if you were in Burnie, you better watch out!
